So continuing on from my last entry, we left Fremont and began recovery at home in San Diego.
The following day John was not doing too good, but of course you put it down to the fact that he has just had surgery and this is expected!
Well John knows his body more than any one, and he was not happy with the amount of pain he was having to put up with.
It seemed that the pain killers were not doing their job, so each time he would move any part of his body it would send shooting pains up his right arm.
We flew back to Fremont to just check on its progress. After a few scans Ting said "it looks unbelievable John, its healing amazingly, just how I wanted it to!" and with that we topped up his prescription and were on our way back.
A few days past and John was still bed bound, even when he had his hip surgery he would always come downstairs and watch TV and relax, but nothing. He couldn't move, had absolutely no appetite and sleeping was not an option.
Around 2am he had enough and it was off to the local hospital to see if there was any thing wrong, maybe infection?
everything seemed absolutely fine but of course he was not satisfied with that answer, so we were on the next flight San Fran. 8am!
After having his MRI Ting noticed that one of the pins had actually gone straight through a nerve. This was causing severe pain and tension as the nerve was trying to re-heal itself around the pin, so every time John would move (or even blood flow) it would send distress signals, and of course could not heal how its supposed to.
So now the pins are out & things seem to be going a little smoother. He is still unable to move it still but its getting better by the day.
He has another appointment with the neurologist in about a month to check up on the bruise to the brain, will keep you posted!!
