Hey Chris! We had a great time, too! We figured you didn't come out Sunday because you couldn't stand to go to Bullwackers again! Noah is so cute and such a trooper! He really did well with those long days. I have about 1600 pictures to go through but will send you some, too. Oh but I don't think I got your e-mail. I probably won't get to them until the weekend. I started two new classes yesterday and have so much reading to do. Wah!

Lisa, it was great hanging out with you and Rob every night! Sorry we weren't there on the lsst night tho, Noah was just beat & couldn't make it anywhere, so I had to let him kinda sit on my moms couch and play with his new toys and fall in and out of consciousness. Was out at the track today but I saw no monster tents? I was wearing a Hopper shirt and had a guy tap me on the shoulder and tell me it was a great shirt and how it sucks he is not riding. Maybe catch some of you tomorrow

I heard Wetsy just crashed again in FP2, session is red flagged...he must not have been too happy seeing Hacking in front of him on the time sheets after this morning, hope he is OK.

I'm just waiting for the day to end here at work so I can head down!!! Glad it is a bit colder, maybe we won't be exposed to so many of the hairy Euro armpits!!!

Just got to Monterey tonight at about midnight after a long day of travel from New Orleans this morings via Dallas L.A. and a long drive. Hoping to make it out there for tomorrow afternoon which I guess is really today (friday). Cant wait Cya all there

Marco Melandri is going. He tried to quit Ducati for Kawasaki.

Italian Marco Melandri will have to wait for his chance to ride Kawasaki’s factory ZX-RR after he was unable to end his Ducati nightmare in time for the German GP.

As reported in yesterday’s MCN, Melandri had tried to get released from his Ducati contract to replace injured John Hopkins in the German and American GP clashes on July 13 and 20 respectively.

But Kawasaki has just confirmed that Melandri won't be riding a ZX-RR in the next two races.

Kawasaki were willing to let the former world 250 champion ride alongside Aussie Anthony West in the next two races, and had cleared the move with Hopkins while he recovers from a broken ankle and tibia he suffered in a massive 175mph crash in Assen.

But Ducati have blocked Melandri’s request to quit just nine races into his two-year Ducati deal, and insist that he continues to ride the GP8 on which has struggled woefully on in 2008.

Factory team boss Livio Suppo told MCN last weekend in Assen that Melandri’s situation would be assessed again after the Laguna Seca clash.

Melandri is still likely to split from Ducati after Laguna Seca and he could still end up riding a factory ZX-RR when the summer break ends for the Czech Republic GP in Brno on August 17.

Kawasaki is unlikely to ditch West to make way for Melandri, though it might consider using its test ZX-RR to accommodate Melandri. It is also understood that any deal to race this season will include a permanent deal for 2009.
