No such luck sounds like a private test , I just read this on the AMA site.

Former AMA Formula Xtreme Champion and MotoGP star John Hopkins will test a GSX-R1000 Superbike at California Speedway on February 2-3, 2010. Team Hammer, which races as Team M4 Suzuki, is in negotiations to sign Hopkins to race the 2010 AMA Pro Racing American Superbike season for Team M4 Suzuki.

"We're excited about having the opportunity to test with a rider the caliber of 'Hopper' and about the possibility that he might race with us in 2010," said Crew Chief Keith Perry. "It's been several years since the team worked with John and we had a lot of success together the last time. John went on to have success in MotoGP and it's been nice to see him do well on the World Championship scene. The team is hoping this test at Fontana will lay the groundwork for a successful partnership with Hopkins in anticipation of working together this upcoming season."

Hopkins, 26, won two AMA National Championships with Team Hammer, in 2000 and 2001, before beginning his World Championship career. Hopkins raced with Red Bull Yamaha before joining the factory Suzuki team, then moved to Kawasaki factory squad five years later. Last season, Hopkins raced with Stiggy Honda in World Superbike.

It said he would be testing at Auto Club Speedway with Team Hammer and there are a couple of Track Days coming up the 30th and the 31st. I already signed up (I wonder if I could be sharing the track with Hopper). Hodgson was out there testing for Corona Honda a couple of years ago and I got to share a track with him.

RRW is pretty reliable, alot more than other sites. Suzuki is very competitive in AMA and the Team Hammer M4 guys know how to make a bike quick. Can't wait to see how the test goes and what will come of it.

Well Roadracing World are reporting that it's Team Hammer / M4 Suzuki that Hopper is talking to about a return to the AMA not Rockstar-Makita Suzuki. This seems much more plausible.

best FACT i have ever heard is the internet is 99.9% wrong all the time and the best info is to wait and see what happenes by now all of you should give up on reading mcn,crash,bsn etc etc as most of the the time there info and stuff is just nabbed from here !!

Please don't take either of these rumours seriously, they are pure speculation. To my knowledge John was never linked with Rockstar.....He's a Monster Man!!!

The official and highly awaited official presentation of the FB Corse bike in Milan on January 21st has been postponed until February 11th, because one of the owners of the company, Andrea Ferrari, is out for health reasons.

According to the latest news, John Hopkins has reached a verbal agreement with the Italian team, but has yet to sign a contract, but according to gpone.com the American rider is also in talks with Rockstar-Makita Suzuki, but the AMA team has already confirmed Tommy Hayden and Blake Young to contest the 2010 Superbike season.

“For us there is no problem,” says Ferrari - “after all John has to train. The program is proceeding as planned and before the end of the month the bike will debut at Vallelunga.”

Same rumors in Germany - the FB roll out will be soon (L.Cadalora as rider) and John is expected to travel to Italy next week! ;o)

Thanks Guys......What I can tell you is John is feeling great and to be honest he looks great too! He is ready to go racing and of course he will tell you of his plans as soon as he possibly can.

yeah I have seen rumors go round before. Im sure the best thing to do will be watch this space and we shall find out whats happening as soon as it is possible
