Gotta give this guy some credit.

We had absolutely no expectations for Marco and the Kawi going into Rd one of MotoGP. Little to no time on the bike, new(ish) team, no Kawi development.........hell, they never even gave him a paintjob and the absence of Kawi green on that bike is just dispicable if you ask me.

Qualified 11th, was 6th quickest in one of the practices and jumps from 11th to 8th on the start!!

Sadly, it looks like he made a mistake or more interestingly changed his mind going into 1 to pass and drove it off the track. Kept it up though with a nearly 10 second deficit behind the field and made it all up and even made a pass or 2 before the end.

Now I know the facts. Kawi is out and this is just their way of appeasing Dorna so as not to get their butts sued off. I am always rooting for the underdog and at least for the first few rounds, I am going to watch Melandri. He has a lot to come back from. Total crap year with Ducati. loses his ride with Kawi, gets it back sort of but with no development time and no development coming.

I am thinking he is going to have a tough year but it looks so far that he is putting his heart into this one and for that....................I commend him!!
